Spawn priorities
- Punch trees & gather flint on the shore. Craft Stone Axe, Hammer, and a crude knife or spear.
- Build a lean-to with a Workbench (needs a roof), Campfire, and Bed. Sleep through the first nights.
- Rested buff comes from sitting near a fire under shelter. Comfort rating extends it — chairs, banners, rugs later.
- Eat three different foods before exploring. Early: cooked meat, berries, mushrooms, honey if you find a hive.
- Map markers: mark boar pits, bee hines, and the nearest Black Forest edge — do not live on the forest line yet.
Tip: The Workbench must be covered or it will not work. A 2×2 roof stub is enough at first.
First combat habits
- Block with a shield, then retaliate. Stamina empty = you die.
- Greylings are free XP; Greydwarves with torches are not — kiting works.
- Deer are easiest with a Crude Bow and wood arrows from cover.
Route to Eikthyr
Find his Vegvisir in Burial Chambers or randomly in Meadows ruins, or explore until you see the stone altar. Summon with 2 Deer Trophies. Bring a bow for his lightning leaps, a shield, and cooked food. His Hard Antlers craft the Antler Pickaxe — your ticket to copper and tin.
Do not set your main bed inside an unfinished open base overnight once raids unlock. A small sealed room with a door is enough.
